Chill Out!

You know that feeling you get sometimes - that feeling that no one is listening to you? Well maybe you don't get that feeling but I do, especially now that we are on summer break. Some days I feel completely ineffectual. It doesn't matter how many times I say:

No hitting!
Share those toys with your sister!
Get off the kitchen table!
Crayons are not food!
For the LOVE, stop pulling hair!

And other such normal things (well those are my normal things), I am pretty sure my voice is not heard. It is very frustrating, because my children don't yet understand that I am the queen and deference must be paid.

unrelated photography - but Lexi is rocking cute Wildcat toes.

Up until recently I was certain that my children had learned to tune my voice out. A few little occurrences have given me hope that some magical day they will listen to what I have to say; some wonderful magical day they will HEAR me.

I give you this:
That's right.
Over breakfast my daughters were telling each other to 'Chill out!'
This is one of my signature phrases.
I use it often since these two like to flip out over simple silly things. They have heard me.

Today's lesson:
Chill out, Momma.
They are listening.
