Snow Days 2014

I love winter.

L.O.V.E.

The snow loves me back - it left a heart shape on our back deck!

I know that makes me one of about 7 people currently residing in Wichita, but it's true. I love snow, cold weather, boots, scarves, fires, and SNOW DAYS! (not to mention that the pressure to be tan does not exist in winter . . . and this momma has skin that gets cancer instead of tan).

We were blessed with two wonderful, beautiful, glorious snow days this past week. I was super lucky because I was able to talk my husband into working from home for 1 1/2 of them. I love snow days so much more when I don't have to worry about his safety.

Morning of Snow Day #1: my girls greeted me with big hugs (and demands for a big breakfast) because they knew we were staying home today!

This year, I could pretty much feel the snow day coming, so I was prepared with lots of activities and new little things to keep my girls entertained. I learn from my mistakes (last year's Blizzard of Oz left me a little frazzled and in want of new amusement).

Here are the photos from our perfect winter snow days:
I'm apparently insane, because I gave Emma paint. Despite all signs pointing to Amateur Move, the painting went over really well! They loved creating masterpieces and Emma only painted something other than the paper (her own fingers) once!

A new puzzle kept Lexi entertained for a while - not only is it a puzzle, but a Search and Find activity, too!

 Play Doh party

Of course, we watched some new movies - Lady and the Tramp is now one of the favorite movies. The girls watched while laying in front of the fire in the new sleeping bags they got for Christmas.

 We went from THIS (top)
to
THIS (bottom) in about 4 hours.

our new building blocks were a huge hit

we made lots of Valentine cards (and a huge mess of paper scraps and stickers)
