Cupcake Queen

So here's how our Cupcake Adventure went down:

1. I decided Lexi was old enough to help make cupcakes. She agreed. SHe helped me put the ingredients in the bowl, and taste the batter.

2. She tasted the batter again and again and again. Sometimes with a spoon and sometimes she just dunked her whole fist in there. Ok, so we won't be sharing these cupcakes with anyone.

3. She finally decided to start helping fill the muffin cups. Take a nice long look at the tray.

4. Well we were able to keep enough batter out of her mouth to make 2 dozen cupcakes. Awesome. I decided Lexi would like to help me some more. She also agreed with me about this.

5. So, I, being the wise momma that I am, realized that maybe she should have an easier job this time. I'll ice the cupcakes - Lex, you can just put sprinkles on them! Easy, right?

6. She has an artist's spirit, I think.

7. Oh and by the way, even if the germs from her hand-dunk in the batter had cooked out we STILL were not going to be able to share these cupcakes. Lexi kept getting a little too into shaking the sprinkles out and would routinely get the whole top of the sprinkles jar onto a frosted cupcake. Her solution was to lick the sprinkles and frosting from the jar and then continue to sprinkle some more. Lovely.

8. Oh wait - one more thing. We REALLY were not sharing these cupcakes, because as soon as they were all frosted and sprinkled, Lexi sneezed all over them. Alright, so, 24 cupcakes and 3 people . . .

9. The taste test: I swear this cupcake-eating-technique is ALL Paul's doing. He also swears the same thing and is quite proud of her.

10. Maybe we should just stick to something simple - like Oreo cookies - in the future.

Sn-O-w My Goodness!

Hip Hip Hooray - another Snow Day!

Wichita got another snowstorm this week and with the lovely pretty white fluff came another snow day for Momma (one of the joys of teaching!)!

I waited until Paul got home from work to bundle up Lexi so she could play in the snow. You see, by the time I get her dressed and double layered I am too exhausted to want to play in the snow! So she went out with her Daddy!

Lexi LOVES to play in the snow!
